As the name suggests, the Regional Railway Museum was built to demonstrate the heritage of Indian Railways. A must-visit for those who are fond of the Indian Railways or like travelling in trains, this museum is home to a good number of steam engines that were used during the rule of British Government in India, and they are among the most popular exhibits of the place. The other set of collections that make this museum so popular among not only local residents of Chennai but those travelling to the city from other parts of the country include different types of train-models, along with the presentation of real exhibits of meter gauge EMU, Nilgiri Mountain Railway, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, and various types of rail engines which are used down the ages. In the outdoor spaces of the museum, about 40 models of model trains are kept on display for the visitors.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
