Menara Gardens

If you’re on a budget, head instead to the Menara Gardens on the outskirts of the city. Better still, hail a horse carriage taxi and feel like Royalty as you’re transported to the Menara Gardens. You will feel peace descending on the surroundings once you leave the frenzied centre of the city. The Menara Gardens epitomise this peace. Here a pavilion, surrounded by an artificial lake, lies at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. The lake is surrounded by a vast expanse of olive groves, palm trees, and orange trees. There are never more than a handful of locals or tourists around. The Menara Gardens provide the perfect oasis, away from the hustle-bustle of the city of Marrakech.
It is easy to spend a few hours unwinding at the gardens. There are no vendors to rush you into buying things you don’t need and there is no urgency to see rooms after rooms laden with artefacts. In fact if you want something to eat or drink, it’s best to get a packed picnic. There are 1-2 kiosks at the entrance but they only sell basic snacks such as cola or crisps. Don’t expect to find a meal here.
