Istanbul Aquarium

Located close to Atatürk International Airport, Istanbul Aquarium is considered the biggest thematic aquarium of the world. Built in an area of 22.000 sq m, the aquarium holds 64 tanks housing more than 15000 exhibits of marine life, representing 1500 species. The aquarium is a sheer visual delight for not only kids but also for grownups. The Istanbul Aquarium is divided into 16 themes and 1 rainforest, representing diverse ocean habitats from Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Red Sea, Mediterranean, Atlantic Sea, Panama Canal to the Pacific Ocean. The 1.2 km long travel route takes around the thematic enclosures, which are equipped with touch screen and audio displays narrating commentary about the diversity of marine life.
