If you are someone who enjoys adventure tourism, then this is for you. The world has been gifted the longest zip line, thanks to the UAE. The zip line that runs close to 160 km per hour is located at Jebel Jais Mountain, the UAE’s highest mountain. The zip line has been developed by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and zip line operator Toro Verde. The cable line is 2.8 km long and it is 1,680 m above sea level. Just to give you perspective, the zip line is longer than 28 football pitches, and is three times higher than Burj Khalifa, Dubai’s tallest skyscraper.
The ride will cost you $177, and promises to be terrifying by all means. You can share the experience with your friends and family, as there are two zip wires side by side.

The zip line can accommodate interested riders every five minutes, and so you will not have to wait for too long for your turn. You will be attached to a harness and will fly face down through the length of the cable.
Haitham Mattar, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said, “This zip line will be like no other experience out there. Once harnessed to the zip line in a horizontal superhero position, participants will soar through the sky as if they’re a bird. It’s the closest you can get to the experience of flying. The zip line will be able to accommodate 250 people a day, that’s 100,000 in a year. Nothing like this exists in the world – let alone in this region.”
Needless to say, this could be one of the best adventures you can ask for, so if you can handle the budget and the height, then you should go for it.
