It doesn’t matter what season it is, it is always a good time to visit the zoo. Open 364 days of the year, admission is reasonable for families and it always promises to be a day of lots of animals and lots of fun. Although some might see this zoo as small, especially compared to the likes of the Toronto Zoo and the Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, the fact remains that visitors here can get much closer and intimate with the animals. There are about 350 animals here, with many species represented and some of the favourites include elephants, tigers, horses, monkeys and arctic wolves. Read less

Although some might see this zoo as small, especially compared to the likes of the Toronto Zoo and the Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, the fact remains that visitors here can get much closer and intimate with the animals. There are about 350 animals here, with many species represented and some of the favourites include elephants, tigers, horses, monkeys and arctic wolves. The animal talks are a huge hit here as visitors get nice and close to the keepers and the animals, some of the talks include elephant, lemur, seals, otter and tiger talks. If you happen to visit in the summertime don’t miss out on Tuesdays at the zoo where a local market takes place complete with arts, crafts, unique wares and local food.
