The Central Market (or Psar Thom Thmey in Khmer) provides a space for locals and tourists to mingle and is a definite must see for all visitors to Phnom Penh. Selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to knock-off electronics, flowers, gold and silver, souvenirs, clothing and kitchenware- there’s something for everyone at this bustling market place. It is one of the few covered markets that provide shelter from the rain in the wet season but also a cool, breezy atmosphere that makes shopping a bit more bearable in the everyday Cambodian heat.
