Central Kad Suan Kaew

Chiang Mai’s most established shopping center, Central Kad Suan Kaew on Huay Kaew Road is admittedly a little dated but still offers a ton of useful shops and amenities, especially if you’re sticking around Chiang Mai for a while. You won’t find many name brand stores, save for Bata shoes and Jaspal, both popular in Thailand, but you can find some cheaper clothing and gear than you would in other shopping malls in the area, along with a movie theater offering the cheapest tickets in town. The Tops Supermarket on the bottom floor is a handy place to pop into for groceries or bakery items and, of course, you can find your bank and mobile or internet service providers here as well for convenient assistance and bill pay. On Friday evening, as the sun sets, food and clothing stalls pop up outside- in front of the mall for a weekly night market where you can snag clothing deals and tasty snacks. The shopping complex is also connected to a large resort hotel, Lotus Hotel Pang Suan Kaew, and even is home to a performing arts center, the KAD Theatre, that regularly runs local and international performances.
