The Calgary Expo, as it is often referred to, is one of its kind in all of Canada, welcoming almost 100,000 people each year. If you have never heard of or attend a Comic Con, you are in for a treat. This festival celebrates everything pop culture, and includes categories such as Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy and more. Think people showing up in costumes of their favorite comic book characters for the costume contests that happen each year. This festival celebrates everything pop culture, and includes categories such as Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy and more. Think people showing up in costumes of their favorite comic book characters for the costume contests that happen each year. Also in store are iconic reunions of casts from popular television or movies. There are workshops, panels, meet and greets, vendors and enough photo opportunities, so you should bring an extra memory card for your camera. And most of all there is some epic gaming that goes on – from classic video game tournaments to new demonstrations to a computer area, there is everything for the relentless gamer. Also available are console video game tournaments and traditional game arena. Don’t forget about the tournaments that run all weekend long as well. And don’t forget your wallet as there will be some very exciting merchandise for sale that you won’t want to miss out on.
