Established in 1958, this is one of India’s best zoos, and was set up for the study, conservation and preservation of the Himalayan fauna. Head here to catch a glimpse of their unique collection of rare animals including the elusive snow leopard, Siberian tiger, Himalayan black bear, red panda or Tibetan wolf. Housed in natural surroundings, the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is built on the mountainside with a steep enclosure resembling the natural habitat of its animals. On the same premises, the Mountain Institute is a training centre for mountaineering and also gives space to a museum., as well as Himalayan black bears, red pandas, snow leopards and Tibetan wolves.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
