Istanbul’s dynamic House team's latest venture has transformed a 19th century waterfront mansion in cosmopolitan Ortaköy – where a bevy of restaurants, bars and clubs sit alongside a magnificent neo-Baroque mosque – into a contemporary hotel.

Like the city itself, it’s a winning combination of old and new. Original features – lofty ceilings, ornate plasterwork, parquet floors – have been complemented by luxe interiors courtesy of uber-cool Turkish design duo, Autoban, using their signature touches of marble, brass and walnut, muted tones and quirky light fittings
