A very sophisticated, Latin party-time new nightclub at the Westin Hotel, Kue Bar has a completely international look and feel. One side of the bar area is open. Surprisingly, the wind tunnel works in a way that keeps the bar completely cool whilst not allowing music to reach the neighbours. The bar area reminds me of one of my favourite resto-bars called Kuh-De-Tah in Bali. The decor here is black and crushed glass and very contemporary with LED lighting. The energy and music is young and the sound system loud but not throbbing - a more definite beat, a provocative mix of styles, tempos and eras throwing together a number of influences to produce a cool, Latin and international mix of sounds. And there's dancing indoors or anywhere you want really. The late-night pace is more laid-back. The alfresco space feels more like 20,000 sq ft than the 3,000 sq feet it is. Along with a long bar, bartenders who throw and flip, two enormous screens which play a pre-recorded loop of fashion, and top Indian and International DJs coming in every week, this is really the place "to be". The indoor, air-conditioned lounge bar is comfortable and the theatrics continue with flare bartending at a circular bar... But I must admit, it is the black alfresco bar which does it for me.
