Pilgrims now have an incredible opportunity to experience the holy River Ganga like never before, thanks to the IRCTC Ganga Snan Special Yatra that has now been introduced. The tour is going to take to one of India’s most important pilgrimages, and it has been scheduled for August 2019. The destinations covered in this tour are Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi.
The tour starts from Guwahati, August 26, 2019 (6 PM); however, the boarding points are New Bongaigaon, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, and Katihar. The IRCTC special package called, the IRCTC Ganga Snan Special Yatra, will arrive at Haridwar on August 29, 2019. After freshening up, you will get to see the Ganga Aarti at Har-ki-Pauri, and then stay overnight in the holy town.
On August 30, 2019, you will head to Rishikesh after breakfast, and check out local places of interest, such as Lakshman Temple, Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula, and then leave for Varanasi in the evening.
Arrive at Varanasi on August 31, 2019, and check into a dharamshala to retire for the night. On the same day after breakfast, you will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi. Head to the railway station to board the train in the evening.
The de-boarding stations are Katihar, New Jalpaiguri, New Cooch Behar, New Bongaigaon, and Guwahati.
IRCTC Ganga Snan Yatra Special is priced at INR 8505 per adult. If you cancel 15 days prior to departure, then only INR 100 will be deducted. Cancel it between 8-14 days prior to departure and 25 per cent of the ticket price gets deducted; 50 per cent of the fare will get deducted if you cancel 4-7 days before departure, and 100 per cent of the fare gets deducted if you cancel 4 days or less before departure.
