To ensure that tourists have a gala time when in Delhi, the tourism department is planning to introduce a smartphone application, where visitors will be able to access a bouquet of information regarding markets, tourist sites, restaurants, historical places, and also tour operators offering tour packages.
An official in the know-how said that the app will be developed on the lines of centre’s Incredible India app, and will be providing all information related to tourism in one place. The official also said that they are also working on a proposal, in which a strategic partner will be involved.
Delhi metro schedule, city map, and time table for bus services will also be made available in the application. It will also allow visitors to access real-time information at ease.
The app has not yet been named, and officials state that an appropriate tagline and title will be selected after collecting suggestions from the public.
