This one is away from the city centre, sprawling at the foot of Chamundi hill. An ornate, towering structure of white marble, this palace was built in the year 1931 to welcome the then British Viceroy to India. A number of suites and rooms, all impressively furnished, built in a style that is inherently royal can be chosen from. You can also access its health club, swimming pool, tennis court, jogging track and the indoor game arena. Foodies have another reason to stay here as it is home to Sapphire, one of the best places to eat in Mysore. If a touch of royalty in your stay facility is what you are looking for, this one definitely deserves a mention. So much so that a number of history movies have been shot here!
