Set in a tree-lined Victorian terrace just a short stroll from the the West End's shops and cafes, Hotel du Vin is a lesson in luxury. Once a hotel occupying a single terrace, the boutique sleep's current owners gradually convinced their neighbours to sell up so du Vin could expand across all five residences in the listed block.

With 49 decadently furnished suites accessed by a veritable maze of corridors and stairwells, Du Vin feels luxuriously private, no doubt the reason big guns from George Clooney to Justin Timberlake bed down here when they're in town. Now there's something to ponder in your freestanding bathtub.
