Surrounded by beautiful spice plantations, this eco-friendly is situated in Upper Burliar on the Ooty-Mettupalam Road, 32 kilometres away from Ooty. Named after the Kurumbas, a local tribe of the Nilgiris, the resort is rooted in the ecology and culture of the region.
Its 15 plush cottages let visitors soak in the surrounding beauty. The Kurumba cottages have thatched, pyramid shaped roofs with private balconies and large windows to take in the views. The 1000 square feet Kurumba suites have king size beds with large French windows to take in the windows, while the Jacuzzi suites have a large living room, a four poster bed, a spacious balcony and bathrooms with their own private Jacuzzi. The in-house restaurant also has a thatched roof, and serves multi-cuisine fare.
If you’re still hungry for views, the strategically located swimming pool lets you take in the panoramic vistas of the surrounding hills. The resort also has a special Wishineering service, which allows you to make personalised requests during your holidays. These can range from spice plantation tours, tree top and cave dining, rose milk baths, trekking and cycling expeditions to tribal cooking class. The resort also organises golf, trekking, tea tasting, tea estate tours, and trips to Ooty and Coonoor.
