It may not be the best looking restaurant around town, but it is one of the most popular, that too, serving as it does, the food from the opposite end of the country. However you account for the popularity of Swagath, it has certainly made its mark in Chandigarh. Though it does serve a sprinkling of North Indian dishes, it is the coastal Karnataka fare that has taken Chandigarh by storm. You would not expect Bombay Duck Fry to do well in the heart of Butter Chicken Land, but it has. As have Crab Butter Pepper Garlic, Fish Gassi and Chicken Ghee Roast. Chettinadu Chicken and Malabar Paratha.
