Designed on the lines of a British pub, Orchid Lounge is a favourite among Chinese food lovers in the city known for its love for hakka noodles and manchurian, though this one serves Continental and Indian too besides Chinese and Thai. The restaurant is known for its zingy finger food, eclectic decor (some find the newly installed faux animal head trophies on the wall, a tad tacky and overdone) and some great music. Try the Birmingham fish tikka and gravy keema, besides lamb dishes. Rinse your palate with a bell pepper and jalapeno cooler, a spicy white wine concoction, and round off the fiery meal with chocolate tuille and you are sorted for the day. The bar takes up a lot of room in Orchid Lounge and deserves the importance bestowed upon it. The cocktail mixes would make you spin with heady pleasure.PS: ‘Active Volcano’, a candy martini with popping sugar, is worth a try for that sugar rush or you could even go for the ‘Marshmallow Coffee’, maybe!
