No list of great restaurants is complete without an Indian name and Gourmindia is the shining gem of Lucerne when it comes to ‘desi’ food. Staples like dal makhani, butter chicken and naan are finger-licking good and are served in huge portions. The samosas, biryani and lamb preparations are equally tasty. The owners of this place are warm and welcoming and always have interesting anecdotes to share. Unlike most other Indian eateries, the interiors aren’t all that gaudy and the ambience is lively. The prices on the menu are decent given how delectable the food is. They also have Jain food for Indian travellers with special dietary preferences, especially those in large groups. There is a decent selection of wine and beer to help you wash your food down.
