Cantina Do Spade is a lovely traditional Venetian osteria, one of the oldest in Venice, and is hidden away in a quiet alleyway but close to the Rialto Bridge. Do Spade is a historic piece of Venice, having been mentioned as far back as 1448 and it is still a popular place for locals to socialise and still retains the authentic and sociable atmosphere of a traditional baraco and also offers some excellent food. Do Spade serves authentic cicchetti and light bites and exceptional local wines in a cosy, wood panelled bar. The seafood here is really good, especially the fried fish, cuttlefish and calamari. You can also create your own piatto misto (sampler platter) by mixing and matching dishes that you want to try. If you want to eat typical Venetian dishes in a cosy and friendly environment close to the heart of Venice then Cantina Do Spade is a great choice.
