Amsterdam restaurant takes social distancing to another level by serving food in private greenhouses

A lot of things have changed around the world given the pandemic situation, and going to a restaurant now looks quite different post-lockdown. A restaurant in Amsterdam has redefined pandemic dining and taken social distancing to another level by serving meals in private greenhouses. Mediamatic ETEN is a beautiful green restaurant that gained popularity recently for its serres séparées or separate greenhouses created especially for diners, who can spend time outdoors without the fear of getting Coronavirus.

Here, at this pretty restaurant, people can enjoy a four-course meal while maintaining COVID norms, especially while social distancing. To ensure distancing, the diners are made to sit inside their private greenhouses. The waiters serve food on a wooden board and never step inside the greenhouse to avoid any contact.
For people who have dined here, it was the most comfortable dining experience post COVID era. This plant-based restaurant on Amsterdam's waterfront offers a wide variety of healthy and vegan food options. Understanding the importance of social distancing, the restaurant decided to transform some of its old greenhouses into separate dining areas for diners.

The move will also encourage diners to come back to restaurants amid the pandemic.
Willem Velthoven, Director of the Mediamatic Art Centre and the restaurant said, "It's somehow interesting because we used to have these greenhouses already for a few years. We built them to do plant-based art projects. So they were there as a plant gallery space. And it's only that corona forces us to think again and say, look, maybe it's also nice for humans to sit in."
