Located on the rooftop of the Paul, Vembanad is the new fine dining coastal restaurant to get added to the list. The decor is quintessentially Kerala style with a lit Nillavillaku (traditional brass lamp) standing at its entrance the restaurant has a carved wooden ceiling, wood panelled walls, terracotta-tiled floors and heavy antiquestyled teak furniture. They have recently redone their menu to offer even more rare and exquisite choices. Some of the dishes we liked include Meen Nirachathu, Erachi Pathiri, Chemeen Muringakai Theeyal, Chemeen and Koonthal Ularthiyathu and Thalasseri Kozhi Curry. The Alleppey Fish Curry goes well with appams made in a special trolley and served hot at your table.
