In the heart of Gotland lies the picture-perfect town of Visby. For a day trip, travelling by air would not be an affordable option, and a ferry a bit too time consuming. Of the two choices, however, the ferry makes more sense as it allows the traveller to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Baltic Sea all along the journey and affords you enough time to sightsee the medieval town of Visby. Accommodation options in Visby vary between the modest cabins, B&Bs, camps to the high-range hotels. In Visby and the surrounding island, the sun may go down, but the day won’t be over. After a day full of museum-hopping, outdoor activities etc., fun continues into the night as there are plenty of things happening to keep everyone engaged. You would look forward to dine out in Visby’s eclectic restaurants and fine dining hubs. And when it comes to food, Visby or for that matter, Gotland being a farming island, is spot on.
