Let’s face it. Rivers are important everywhere but they are the center of attention in England. In London, life seems to revolve around The Thames. Similarly in Leeds and the surrounding areas, River Aire seems to dominate the lives of residents and tourists alike. The river passes through a number of small towns and villages in Yorkshire. It flows through the dramatic and crumbling ruins of Kirkstall Abbey before entering the city center of Leeds. Read less
