Pantai Cenang is one of the most developed beaches in Malaysia and the main hub of Langkawi. It is often compared to the Las Vegas strip. While it comes nowhere close to its American equivalent, Pantai Cenang is definitely the place to be seen in Langkawi. There are a number of water sports available on the beach. If you’re not a pro swimmer, try the banana boat (an inflatable boat suspended on water) or parasailing. Pantai Cenang is also the perfect place to top up your tan—the sun shines bright on most days of the year.
The fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down. Pantai Cenang boasts of some of the most gorgeous sunsets in Malaysia. The entire strip is jam-packed with beach-front restaurants, guesthouses, bars and cafes. There are shops by the dozen and you can find everything from cheap knock-offs of branded sunglasses, clothes, shoes to local candy and dried fruits here.
