Oxford

Oxford is probably the first name that comes up when one thinks of day trips from London. Located in the middle of the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside, this university town is home to one of the most prestigious universities in the world. The University of Oxford has a long and illustrious history. Hundreds of renowned academicians, poets, and authors can be spotted on the alumni list.
Tourists can visit the university buildings as well. Some buildings that shouldn’t be missed include the Bodleian Library, which is one of the oldest libraries in Europe, and the Sheldonian Theatre. Some of the colleges that have interesting buildings include Christ Church College, Balliol College and Merton College. There isn’t much more to Oxford than The University of Oxford but do not miss the perfectly manicured Botanical Gardens if you ever find yourselves there.
