An official of the works department that the construction of the 2.58 km long bridge is already complete and that only a few finishing touches are left before it gets ready for being opened for daily traffic.
Built at a cost of INR 157 crores, the bridge has a 10.5 m carriageway and includes a 6 ft wide footpath for pedestrians and cycles on both sides.
When it comes to a few other advantages of this bridge, it will reportedly cut down the distance between Dhenkanal and Bhubaneswar by around 22 km. This simply means that the vehicles travelling towards Bhubaneswar from Dhenkanal will no longer need to travel via Manguli Chhak in order to come on the NH-6 route; instead, they can cross the bridge from Nuapatna to Markatnagar and move towards Barang en route the Netaji Setu to reach the national highway at Pitapalli.
