Mekong delta

A trip down the Mekong delta and the surrounding Islands is a must when in Saigon, a perfect escape from the hush-hush of city life. There are a number of tour companies that take you to see places around Mekong Delta. You can take a day tour or a 1 night 2 days tour. The day tours range from $10 - $15, the cost is inclusive of transport, an English speaking guide and an authentic Vietnamese meal.
There are a number of small islands along the delta. One can choose to visit any or all of them. The most visited of the lot is Cai Be and its floating market which opens early morning. The fruit market of Vinh Long is another island to visit if you want to relish the tropical treasures of Vietnam.
