The tropical paradise of Langkawi is blessed with gorgeous natural sites, each more spectacular than the last. Telaga Tujuh or Seven Wells Waterfall, as most tourists know it, is one such place. It is the prettiest natural site in Langkawi by a mile. Here, seven pools of glistening water and seven waterfalls combine to make one picturesque attraction. It takes about 45 minutes to climb to the top of the waterfall and requires a certain level of fitness, but this hike is well worth it. You’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views all along. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing if you intend to climb to the top. According to local legend, fairies reside in the woods surrounding Telaga Tujuh. I don’t know whether that is true or not, but I do know that the forests are home to pretty flowers and scenic panoramas. Pack a picnic— there are a number of spots where you can relax and munch on nibbles while taking a dip in the pools that comprise Telaga Tujuh. However do be careful because there are a few monkeys in the area and they love snatching food from tourists.
