The Kolkata International Photography Festival (KIPF) is due this February, and by the looks of it, it is being hailed as the largest photography festival in Asia. With the participation of over 100 photographers from 28 countries across the world, the Kolkata International Photography Festival (KIPF) is currently one of the most awaited events in Kolkata.
Photographers from countries such as Italy, Nepal, Columbia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Netherland, Israel, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, USA, Japan, Ethiopia, Poland, Nigeria, Germany, and more.
Numerous places across the city are going to be transformed into galleries. You have places such as Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, and iconic galleries such as Harrington and Kolkata Centre of Creativity are going to transform into galleries. Some of the other spaces are – the private homes turned art spaces, and cinemas. Other venues are Nandan and Gaganendra Art gallery, among other places.
As an art enthusiast, there is much to learn from the festival as it is not just galleries that matter, but KIFP 2019 is also going to have talk shows attended by eminent photographers and documentary film shows on photography as well. You will also have a chance to take part in workshops.
