Welcome to the largest Buddhist temple of Malaysia, spread over 30 ac of mountainous terrain of the Air Itam area. Given the massive 100 ft bronze statue of Goddess Kuan Im, under a roof pavilion double that height, which is visible from roads and highways in the vicinity, you cannot miss this iconic temple. The winding hilly road to reach its entrance makes for a picturesque drive too. A reasonably priced inclined lift service takes people up for a close-up of the majestic statue.
Tips: Situated at a distance of 3–4 km from Penang Hill rail station, plan to visit this site along with the places of interest listed in the Penang Hill, a day of cool retreat guide.
