Before this, RailTel was responsible for providing high-speed Wi-Fi at 746 stations across the country. This catered to around eight million users per month, as per a railway official.
According to Puneet Chawla, Chairman and Managing Director, RailTel, the connection is quite secure and travellers can safely use the RailWire WiFi.
How to use IRCTC Wi-Fi on Kalka-Shimla route?
To use the facility, the users will have to switch on Wi-Fi mode and select the RailWire WiFi network option. Then, the user will have to enter their mobile number on which they will receive an OTP or One Time Password via SMS.
This OTP will then have to be entered on the home page of RailWire, doing this will enable the user to use the free Wi-Fi facility.
This is another step forward in fulfilling PM Narendra Modi’s Digital India dream. The Indian Railways has already successfully installed high-speed Wi-Fi at around 746 stations. With this, India has created a name for itself on a global platform.
