Summer special ‘Heritage Tour’ is the latest offering from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) under its ‘Bharat Darshan Special Tourist Train’ scheme. This special train will pass through many popular destinations, such as Mumbai, Aurangabad, Goa, Ajanta, Ellora, and Hyderabad.According to a press release, the train will leave on May 10 from Madurai, pass through Bengaluru (Yeswanthpur), Hassan, and Mangaluru on May 11. The journey will last for 9 nights and 10 days, and will cost INR 9250 per passenger, including GST.
Dozens of such special trains are launched across the country every year, which last from a few days to a couple of weeks. This initiative by the Indian Railways’ tourism arm is aimed at offering tourists the convenience of visiting any part of the country in a cost-effective manner. Also, cost of transport, accommodation, and food are all included in the package, which make these train packages lucrative.

It should be noted that passengers will have to carry their PAN card, voter ID card, driving license, and ration card with them for verification by railway authorities.
