Hong Kong makes it to the top as the best international place to visit

Market researcher Euromonitor International is out with the results of Top 100 City: Destinations Ranking 2017 and Hong Kong once more tops the list as the best international place to visit.
For ninth year in a row Hong Kong has managed to keep the distinction of being the most favourable tourist destination. At a time when the travel industry is booming, the result of this research definitely shows the travel trends of the world. Euromonitor has estimated in its studies that 25.7 million arrivals happened in Hong Kong in 2017, making it one of the best places to travel in 2017.


In the second place close to Hong Kong is Bangkok, which grew faster than Hong Kong since 2016. The total arrivals in Bangkok this year has been 21.3 million. Best international places to visit thereby include two Asian cities, while London stands in third place with 19.8 million arrivals this year. It has been noted that a few European cities such as Brussels, Paris and Nice were affected by terrorism and, hence, saw fewer arrivals in comparison to previous years. Heraklion, the city in Greece, has seen an exponential growth, with 11.2 percent growth and even stepping up three places to rank 66.


The top five in the list of most travelled cities in the world in the year 2017 includes Hong Kong, Bangkok, London, Singapore and Macau. Asia definitely features high in the list of best international places to visit, with cities attracting larger footfalls in 2017.
