A visit to the Jain Temples in the Golden Fort will surely leave you mesmerised with its exquisite architecture and design. The temples have been built in white and yellow stones with intricate carvings and artwork. One of the main tourist attractions of the Jaisalmer Fort are these temples that are dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras like Rishabhdevji (the first Tirthankara) and Sambhavnathji. It is said that these temples were constructed between 12th and 15th century. The most impressive among these shrines is the Parsvanath Temple, where the walls are engraved with figures of animals and humans. The idol in the temple is built using black stone with multiple hoods in the shape of serpents. Consider visiting the Jain Temples in the morning when priests shower (abhishek) the idols with milk and decorate them, followed by aarti that is divine and soothing.
