There is no doubt that McLeodganj is on every adventure seeker’s list of favourite places. But when you are done with your adventures (and shopping), what do you do? You head to the Tsuglagkhang Complex.
If you are curious about Tibetan culture, you can’t go wrong with the Tsuglagkhang Complex. There are several buildings, including the main temple, a museum, a library, and a bookstore, in the complex. The main temple is the most popular attraction there but definitely not the only thing you will get to experience there.
One thing that strikes visitors the most is the beautiful architecture of the Tsuglagkhang Complex. Here, you will get to see the traditional Tibetan architecture, including colourful prayer flags, intricate carvings, and ornate paintings along with the magnificent statues of Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, and Avalokiteshvara.
Visiting McLeodganj is simply wholesome because it’s never just about the culture here. The location itself is so scenic. The picturesque town is surrounded by beautiful hills and valleys. Even if one decides to do absolutely nothing and just soak in the vibe of the place, it’s worth it.
One word of advice though, avoid visiting McLeodganj during the peak tourist seasons. Allow yourself some peace that comes only with the off-season travel, to really see and experience the beauty and charm of the place. This can be one of your impromptu trips!
