If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you should add the Dunluce Castle to your must-see list when visiting Belfast. Dunluce Castle is one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic historic monuments, perched dramatically on a cliff in the Antrim County. It can be reached by a bridge which, during World War II, was occasionally used as a lookout to monitor shipping. On a clear and sunny day, one can see as far as Scotland when standing in the castle grounds.
Over the years, parts of the castle have fallen into the sea. The north wall of the residence building collapsed into the sea, giving the castle a dramatic effect. Legend has it that in the 17th century, the kitchen of the castle, gave way and fell into the sea along with seven chefs leaving just a kitchen boy in an untouched corner.
