Duke’s Nose (Nagphani)

Also known as Nagphani, Duke’s Nose was named after the Duke of Wellington. Standing tall amidst the Western Ghats, the Duke’s Nose is called so because of its very shape—an inclined peak jutting out like a nose. This rock structure hangs over the valley towards the right, as you approach Lonavla. The point offers breathtaking vistas of the Sahyadri ranges. Adventure lovers can hike up to the highest point and take in the panoramic views of the region. The trek is suitable for beginners too. The best time to trek is in November to February and the entire trekking trail offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding areas. Once atop, you can visit the temple of monkey god Hanuman or simply admire the breathtaking vistas of the expanse.
