The development came right after the US State Department raised its travel warning for certain parts of Italy. Saturday saw the government raising its travel warning to Level 4: Do Not Travel to Veneto and Lombardo. It cited the reason as “due to the level of community transmission of the virus and imposition of local quarantine procedures”.
Reportedly, American Airlines Inc will suspend all its flights to Milan from John F Kennedy Airport as well as Miami. The only exception to the said suspension would be its daily flight between Philadelphia and Rome. Sunday saw the last of its flights returning from Italy. It is expected that American would resume its season flight operations to Venice in May.
