This gorgeous green village is just a 153 km drive away from Mumbai, Maharashtra. The destination is just the perfect escape for Mumbaikars and is known for its pristine beaches, old temples and caves. In addition, there are dams and chikoo orchards too.
Bordi is a coastal hamlet located in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The village has earned the title of a ‘tourist destination’ owing to its beautiful beach and natural beauty and is also one of those places where Chikoo farming is done. Every year, the village also hosts a Chikoo Festival, which is attended by a number of chikoo fruit lovers.
Places to visit in Bordi
The prime tourist attraction in Bordi is the Bordi Beach. Come here during the evenings to soak in some spellbinding vistas of sunset. Also, you can take an evening or night stroll on the golden sand beach.
The other prominent attraction of Bordi is the Kalpataru Botanical Garden in Umbergaon. This green garden is pure bliss. To witness the real beauty of this garden, visit the place during the monsoon season, for it makes for a happy green sight. Also, the place is home to the famous Vrindavan Studios, where the epic TV series Ramayana was shot.
