Arunachal Pradesh to host bird festival from March 22 to boost ecotourism

Arunachal Pradesh in a bid to promote tourism will be hosting three-day bird festival from March 22. This move is expected to give a big push to wildlife conservation.

Arunachal Pradesh Art and Culture Eco-Tourism Society, which is a local organisation dedicated to promote wildlife conservation, will be organising this bird festival at Rupa and the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in West Kameng district.
As per an official in the know-how, the event aims to conserve the wildlife that will motivate people to participate, and also promote the tourism sector that serves as a livelihood for the locals in the state. The official also stated that this festival will feature events, such as interaction with the tourism entrepreneurs and wildlife experts along with seminars and heritage walks.

The official further added, “We have already got confirmation of participation form experts in the field of nature conservation from the country and abroad, including Anuj Jain of BirdLife Asia (Singapore), Paul Insua-Cao of Royal Society for Protection of Birds, UK and Director of The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) Deepak Apte.”
The official also mentioned that it would be an occasion during which people from all walks of life will come together to share their ideas and views with tourism entrepreneurs and wildlife experts, and will also gain expertise to understand and boost their means of livelihood.
