Located at the intersection of Mungaoli and Isagarh, Chanderi museum preserves its heritage and culture intact through this museum. The museum features the actual sculptures and stone carvings from the bygone era. Remains of Jain temples from Thubon and Boodhi Chanderi can be found here, most of which consist statues of different Tirthankaras. The museum is smartly divided into different sections that feature Jain history, Hindu mythology, depictions of the Stone Age era and coins & armaments. It possesses around 3000 plus books that provide more information on history of this province. The museum’s Lord Vishnu gallery is quite an interesting sight, as one can see all different incarnations of Vishnu such as Vamana, Varaha, Narsimha, Matsya, etc. The museum has smartly placed the statues indoors as well as outdoors. While many statues can be found inside; there are quite a few sturdy artefacts and doorways that are on display in the lawn of the museum. It is advisable to visit the museum in the last phase of your journey. In this manner, you would be able to conclude your entire trip with just one location that encapsulates cultural, religious and historical inferences related to Chanderi.
