Amarnath Yatra is one of the most revered journeys, which every Hindu aspires to undertake once in his/her lifetime. Every year, thousands of devotees register themselves for this 46-day-long religious trek and travel to Anantnag district in Jammu & Kashmir.Amarnath is home to Lord Shiva’s ‘Linga’ form, the main structure formed of ice. Amarnath Yatra is one of the most revered journeys, which every Hindu aspires to undertake once in his/her lifetime. Every year, thousands of devotees register themselves for this 46-day-long religious trek and travel to Anantnag district in Jammu & Kashmir.Amarnath is home to Lord Shiva’s ‘Linga’ form, the main structure formed of ice. The official also informed that there will also be an online registration link for a limited number of pilgrims (every day) on a pilot basis. This particular website will have an application form along with a state-wise list of bank branches. Moreover, all the interested pilgrims need to show a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) while registering, for obvious reasons. There will be a state-wise list of doctors and medical institutes, who will issue CHCs to ensure authenticity.
Starting date: July 1, 2019 (Masik Shivratri)
Concluding date: August 15, 2019 (Shravan Purnima)
No. of days: 46
Age limit: Children under 13 and adults over 75 years won’t be allowed to register. Also, women more than six weeks pregnant can’t register.
