The passion of Argentina
Tipple of choice: Booze is banned at games (prepare to be breathalysed at the stadium entrance). Instead, revellers sip mate between war cries.
It's notoriously difficult however, to secure Superclásico tickets, and punters are routinely faced with two options: fork out for a group tour (around ARS 1,000-1,500) or find someone who is a 'socio' or member to buy them for you.
Consider attending a match between other great teams in the competition. Most locals will be happy to escort you to their next team game, or you can purchase tickets yourself at the relevant box office for as little as ARS 40.
For the most authentic experience, choose tickets in the lively 'popular' section, although it is advisable to have a local in your entourage, as there is a lot of etiquette to observe, which can get outsiders in trouble.
