Laid-back drinking with a backroom secretWord to the wise: Tread carefully with your drinks in the back room; the bouncy, cushion-covered floor makes spillages likely. Although the handy pint-holders in the table do help.
Tipple of choice: Spirit and mixers are a very student-friendly GBP 2.50.
For those who enjoy drinking in the comfort of their own home and for whom the social-butterfly bar scene is just too much to bear, Brass Monkey offers a tempting compromise. Complete with its own back room cinema (screenings daily, 3pm), which features comfortable Middle-Eastern style floor seating, low lighting and a vast array of movie treats, visitors are invited to make themselves at home.
For those who would rather prop up the main bar, Brass Monkey's traditional yet quirky styling provides an equally chilled out atmosphere and offers a decent selection of bottled and draft beers, wines and spirits.
