Hotel Monteleone on Royal Street in the French Quarter is such an iconic and beautiful place that it is difficult to pinpoint any one thing for its fame. However, the Carousel Piano Bar and Lounge can easily walk away with the honours. The only revolving bar in the city, not only is it a stunning place but is known for hosting celebrated writers like Tennessee Williams, and Ernest Hemingway, and as well as other celebrities such as Michael Jordan, and Dennis Quaid. But its fame stems from two spectacular cocktails. Vieux Carré, named after the French Quarter, is with whiskey, cognac, and vermouth with Peychaud's Bitters, Angostura Bitters, and Bénédictine on the rocks. The Goody is made with dark rum, light rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice.
