Seriously laid-back Middle Eastern tearoomTipple of choice: Salterio makes an excellent, authentic North African mint tea.
It's hard to believe that somewhere as low-key and relaxed as Salterio exists right behind the Catalan government's headquarters. Inconspicuous from outside, this Algerian run tea salon is as calm as they come, with ancient-looking bare stone walls, exposed beams and soft lamplight creating a pleasantly moody atmosphere.
Salterio serves home made food, with particularly good vegetarian options, but the real draw here are the authentic North African teas. The friendly service from the owners means that the place is anything but uptight.
