Argentinian-born Maria Corbalan breathes new life into Tex-Mex enchiladas and tacos with the addition of South American spices and sauces. She also heats up the restaurant with her own bubbly personality, routinely joking with regulars and hugging unsuspecting newcomers. A welcoming bust of Maria with outstretched arms towers over the entryway, topping off the restaurant's wacky folk-art decor.
On Sunday mornings, the restaurant is transformed into Hippie Church, featuring musicians who play uplifting religious music. The focus is on dancing, drinking, and the non-denominational peace-and-love aspects of religion, as opposed to all those pesky rules.
