Restored art deco gem

Noteworthy for: Long a meeting place for Prague's high society, the Hotel Imperial arguably contains the most lavish interior of any hotel in the city.
Sumptuous and unusual, the five star art deco Hotel Imperial is a nostalgic throwback to Prague's golden early 20th century heyday. Built just before the First World War and refurbished in 2007, it's perhaps best known for its splendid cafe and foyer, but is nonetheless also an alluring, well located place to stay.

The well-groomed, generously sized rooms (all triple glazed and sound-proofed) are in keeping with the period building, their elegant decor plush rather than edgy. Put together with old school luxury, they make the Imperial a great but intimate modern take on a grand steam age hotel.
