Vishu 2023 is being celebrated today, on April 15 among Malayali Hindus in India and worldwide. It is also known as Bisu and marks the day when the Sun enters Aries zodiac, considered as the New Year. People show their gratitude to God and seek blessings from significant temples such as Sabrimala Ayappa and Guruvayoor Sri Krishna. They offer prayers, wear new clothes, and decorate their houses with lights, rangoli, and flowers.

"It's been a long time since we enjoyed a festival with the whole family," said Vidya Shankarnarayana, a Vishrantwadi resident, who is excited about having a long-awaited family get-together at her residence on Friday to celebrate Vishu.
